Understanding Parlays
A parlay (or accumulator) combines multiple bets into one. The decimal odds of each individual leg are multiplied together to produce the combined payout. All legs must win for the bet to pay out.
Example: A 3-leg parlay at -110 each: each leg has decimal odds of 1.909. Combined: 1.909 × 1.909 × 1.909 = 6.966. A $100 bet pays $696.60 total ($596.60 profit).
The catch: While payouts grow exponentially, so does the house edge. Sportsbooks love parlays because the vig compounds with each leg. A 3-leg parlay at -110 has roughly 12.5% combined vig vs. 4.5% on a single bet.
Correlated parlays can offer value when legs are positively linked (e.g., a QB's passing yards and his receiver's receiving yards). Use the SGP Correlation Calculator to check if same-game parlay pricing is fair.
