Unit Sizing
A unit is a standardized bet size, typically 1-2% of your total bankroll. Using units instead of dollar amounts helps you:
1. Manage risk consistently across different bankroll sizes 2. Compare performance over time or against others 3. Scale bet sizes appropriately as your bankroll changes
Example: With a $1,000 bankroll using 1% units, one unit = $10.
Many bettors use a tiered system: 1 unit for standard bets, 2 units for higher confidence plays, but rarely exceeding 3 units on any single wager.
